What it does
Single-judgement skill: given the asset and the kind of contributor being engaged (developmental editor, copy editor, illustrator, designer, AV producer, fact-checker), it drafts a tailored brief — scope of work, what the author wants and explicitly does not want touched, voice and audience notes, deliverable format, and the questions the contributor should answer back. The author edits and sends. Used at the point of commissioning each external contributor.
